MUNICIPALITY OF ARGYLE
AQUACULTURE
The Municipality of the District of Argyle has collaborated with the NS Dept. of Fisheries and Aquaculture to create an Aquaculture Development Area (ADA) for shellfish and marine plants. The primary goal of the ADA is to remove some of the burden placed on investors by shortening and simplifying the application process with the creation of areas that have already been identified as suitable for aquaculture development. If you would like to learn more, please see this media release. If you are interested in becoming a farmer within the ADA area, please contact the NS Dept. of Fisheries and Aquaculture. That department manages the applications, leases and licenses. For more information on getting a lease and license through the ADA, follow the link below.
